Our goal at DubBot is for users to be able to get in the system and start using DubBot without a lot of training. We do however realize that it is important to give some direction to make the initial adoption smooth and painless. The following is an outline of the steps that will need to be taken and additional documentation for how DubBot can be used. We strongly encourage all of our new users to utilize support should they run into any questions or concerns during this phase.
1. Setup DubBot to start scanning your content
In order to begin using DubBot, you will need to add which content you would like DubBot to start scanning. You can tell DubBot which content you would like to scan by adding that information via the Sites settings.
You can setup content scans to be based on a full domain, a section off of a full domain, a site map, a list of pages manually entered, or a list of pages supplied to DubBot via CSV.
2. Setup your Users
Once you have your content setup for scanning by DubBot, you can add users to have access to all of the content in DubBot or to select sites.
First you will need to add users via the Users menu option. It is important to note that if you would like Users to only have access to specific sites in DubBot, set the user's initial Role in the Users menu to None.
3. Add Custom Checks
DubBot will automatically check for accessibility, spelling, and bad link issues. You will likely have additional web governance or organization-specific checks that you would like run in addition to the automated checks. DubBot Custom Checks allows for an array of customization for generating a list of flagged pages based on the inclusion or exclusion of certain content. Custom Checks can be built on something as simple as the inclusion of a snippet of text or as complex as a variety of content formats. They can also flag based on link text and/or destination.
You can review this article to see what other Custom Checks other DubBot users have found useful. Each of these articles details how to setup the Custom Check in DubBot. If you have a check that you would like to run but are unsure of how to build it, please reach out to DubBot support.
