3 Steps to Get Started with your DubBot Account

Set up the sites, users, and policies for your account.

Updated over 6 months ago

Our goal at DubBot is for users to be able to get into the system and start using DubBot without a lot of training. We do, however, realize that it is important to give some direction to make the initial adoption smooth and painless.

The following is an outline of the steps that account administrators will need to take and additional documentation for how DubBot can be used. We strongly encourage all of our new users to utilize support should they run into any questions or concerns during this phase.

1. Set up DubBot to start scanning your content

To begin using DubBot, you will need to add which content you would like DubBot to start scanning. You can tell DubBot which content you would like to scan by adding that information via the Site's settings.

You can set up content scans to be based on a full domain, a section of a full domain, a site map, a list of pages manually entered, or a list of pages supplied to DubBot via CSV.

Read more in the Site Setup article.

Be aware that initial site crawls will create an influx of traffic on the server when we discover pages and files for the first time. The crawler's static IP is 34.213.65.175, and the proxy's static IP is 52.36.131.191.

2. Set up your Users

Once you have your content set up for scanning by DubBot, you can add users to have access to all of the content in DubBot or to select sites.

First, you will need to add users via the Users menu option. It is important to note that if you would like Users to only have access to specific sites in DubBot, set the user's initial Role in the Users menu to None.

Learn more in the User Setup article and Abilities for Each Role article.

3. Add Policies

DubBot will automatically check for accessibility, spelling, and bad link issues. You will likely have additional web governance or organization-specific checks that you would like to run in addition to the automated checks.

DubBot has a Policy Library that allows a simple point-and-click implementation of more specific checks for your account. This library is populated with the most often requested policies (custom checks) of our clients. You can also Create a Policy on your own for checks very specific to your use case.

These policies can be added at any time, so you can add them as you find the need.

If you have a check that you would like to run but are unsure of how to build it, please Contact us for Help.
