View Issues on a PDF file

Accessing and Understanding the Detail PDF View panel.

From the PDF List for a Site or Page Set, select a PDF's URL to access the Detail PDF View - all of the issues reported for that page and other supplementary information.

Access and Review the PDF Inventory

From a Site or Page Set's dashboard, select the x PDFs link to review the PDF inventory from the latest crawl.

The PDF inventory panel displays the following information for each item:

  • Type

  • Filesize

  • Created at - taken from the file's metadata

  • Last modified - taken from the file's metadata

  • Pages - number of pages in the PDF

  • Accessibility Issues

  • Broken Links

  • PDF Tags

  • Open Tasks

  • Link Sources - how many pages in this site link to the PDF

The panel can be sorted by any of the columns shown by selecting that column's header.

Select a PDF's URL to access its Detail PDF View - all of the issues reported for that file and other supplementary information

The header area of the Detail PDF View displays the following:

  • Full URL of the PDF

  • Filesize and file type

  • Date and time the file was last inventoried

  • Refresh Content button to update the cached version of the PDF from the webserver location shown in the header.

  • Favorite Icon to make the PDF easier to find in listings.

The left side of the Detail PDF View panel has the following tabs down the left side:

  • Accessibility Issues - lists Failed Issues and those that Need Manual Review to determine if there is an issue (app is unable to evaluate)

  • Bad Links - lists broken links in the document. (Just for clarity, we can only check if links are actually entered in the document. If there is simply a URL in the text of the document and it is not actually linked, we cannot test in that situation.)

  • References - listing of files in the current site that link to the PDF

  • Document Information - displays the metadata and headers found in the PDF
