What accessibility checks are run on PDF files?

Why doesn't the app highlight issues in a PDF preview as it does for a web page?
We cannot highlight issues in PDF files because of how the files render in browsers.
Are Broken Links checked in PDF files?
The app can only check links that are actually configured in the document. If there is a URL in the text of the document and it is not linked, we cannot test.
Why are there Needs Manual Review checks for PDFs?
The app can only check for the presence of certain items in the PDF. It cannot evaluate their content, meaning, or the logical flow of the document.
