Test a Custom Policy on One Page

Ensure the policy is correct before running on a site or account.

Why test one page?

Custom policies can be tricky sometimes. Before running a Custom Policy on an entire site or account, it is best practice to conduct a one-page test.

Steps for Testing

  1. Locate a page in your previously inventoried content that will trigger the custom policy.

  2. In the new Custom Policy, enable the Site that holds the URL identified in Step 1.

  3. Open the Detail Page View of the page from Step 1.

  4. Refresh Content on the page where you know the flag should appear. Don't forget to refresh your page view after the Last crawled on date is updated.

  5. If you see the flag appear in the Category you chose for the Custom Policy, you are ready for the new policy to run.

  6. If you don't see the flag and you are positive it should have appeared on the page, double-check the policy configuration.
