Ignoring and Resolving Issues

Account, Site and Page Level options to Ignore and Resolve Issues

Ignore and Resolve defined

There is an important distinction between Ignoring and Resolving issues within DubBot.

Ignoring an issue means the issue will no longer be reported on in DubBot.

Resolving an issue means that the issue will be removed from reporting for now. The issue may be reopened if the next crawl finds that the issue was not truly resolved.

Ignore or Resolve issues for a Site or Account from an issue listing page

When viewing a list of pages that have a particular type of issue (accessibility, broken links, etc.) a site administrator has permission to ignore or resolve issues for the site or the account. A site manager has permission to ignore or resolve for their site(s) and will only see that option.

Select the kebob menu in the row for the issue you wish to ignore or resolve and select your choice from the menu that appears:

  • Ignore for this site

  • Ignore for this account

  • Mark resolve for this site

  • Mark resolve for this account

Ignore Issue Based on Source at the Page Level

This feature is available for Accessibility and Best Practices issues.

You can select a single occurrence of an issue on a page and ignore just that issue for the site, account, or only the current page.

This is particularly helpful when dealing with third-party embeds on pages that have issues over which you have no control. Once you have ensured there is an alternative method for interacting with the third-party content, you may be able to ignore the error specific to that third-party embed.

Imagine you have a web page with an image of a kitten and a tracking pixel code element, both flagged for lacking ALT text. DubBot lets you simply ignore the alt text error for the tracking pixel code across all pages within your site while still reporting the problem with the kitten image’s ALT text.

First, you will need to select which instance of the reported error you want to ignore by scrolling through the issue selector.

As you scroll, you will notice a focus glow as each issue is selected.

After selecting the appropriate issue, a site administrator or manager will see the following options in the Actions dropdown :

  • Ignore on this Page

  • Ignore on this Site

  • Ignore on this Account

  • See all Pages with this issue type

Users who do not have administrative access will only see the option 'See all Pages with this issue type'.

Items ignored just for a particular page are shown under the Issues ignored on this page only header with the name of the person who ignored the item and the date that occurred.

Refresh Content at the Page Level

The Refresh Content button at the top of Detailed Page View allows you to get more immediate feedback on whether an issue was fixed by the edit that was pushed to the web server. You don't have to wait for the next full site crawl.
