This update discusses advanced settings only available to Account Administrators and for those comfortable writing regular expression Ignored Paths in the app.
To limit the number of calendar entries inventoried in a site, you can now use the variable {{CURRENT_YEAR}} in a regex ignore.
There are three ways to use the variable: {{CURRENT_YEAR}}, {{CURRENT_YEAR+N}}, or {{CURRENT_YEAR-N}} , where N can be any number and follow the + or -.
The year value(s) update automatically based on the account's time zone when a new year rolls around. This lets you create a one-time, set-it-and-forget-it ignore path that automatically updates to allow, for example, only event pages from the current year and the next year to be inventoried on the site.
For example, you could limit your calendar's inventory to only those entries with the path /event/{{CURRENT_YEAR}} OR /event/{{CURRENT_YEAR+1}} .
For a regex example, the path regular expression
^/events/(?!{{CURRENT_YEAR}}/)\d{4}/ ignores event pages from every year except the current one.
