References

A listing of links to and from items in DubBot.

What are References?

References in DubBot refer to links to or from an inventoried item: a webpage, a PDF, or an image. These links can point to or from other pages, images, scripts, or stylesheets.

Reference information is now added throughout DubBot for pages, images, and PDF files.

References on a Dashboard

The All References Report link is found in the Reports Panel of a Site's or Page Set's Dashboard.

The References Panel provides an inventory of all links found in the site or Page Set.

References can be sorted by the reference type (link, PDF, image, etc. ) and the status it returns (any, broken, or redirected).

The panel displays the following information for each link inventoried in the site:

  • URL and link to the live page

  • Reference Type (link, PDF, image, etc.)

  • Response Code (200 - ok, 404- not found, etc.)

  • Where To (for links that are redirected)

  • Content Type

  • Filesize

  • Link Sources - pages where the link can be found

  • Site - in Page Sets, shows the name of site(s) where the link can be found

This content can be downloaded as a CSV file using the Download CSV button, shown by the cloud icon.

References on a Detail Page View Panel

References are integrated into the Detail Page View panel. Locate the browser window iconbrowser window icon in the left navigation of a Detailed Page View. When selected, the References Panel will appear, showing a list of items linking to and from the page.

  • Linked from this page- an overview of all the content linked in the current page, divided into the following areas:

    • Links

    • Images

    • Scripts

    • Stylesheets

  • Linking to this page- listing of non-image files linking to the current page.

Selecting any items listed under Linked from this page leads you to the Linked from this Page panel. This panel lists all items linked from the current page. The first dropdown menu gives the options to display by reference type:

  • All Reference Types

  • Link

  • PDF

  • Document

  • Image

  • Spreadsheet

  • Presentation

  • JavaScript

  • Stylesheet

The second dropdown lets you display items with Any Status, Broken Only, or Redirected to help you zero in on particular links.

References on PDF Panels

Reference information is also included in both the PDF Inventory Panel and the PDF Detail View Panel.

The PDF Inventory Panel has a column titled Link Sources that shows the number of pages on which that PDF is linked.

The PDF Detail Panel includes a References icon that displays a list of file(s) linking to the PDF in the current site.

References on Image Panels

The Image Inventory Panel displays the number of pages linking to an image in the Link Sources column.

The Image Detail View displays the Reference icon in the left-hand menu. When selected, it shows which page contains the image link.
