Scoring

A quick overview on how scores are generated.

Individual Page Scores

Site Scoring begins by calculating a score per category for each page in a site's inventory. A page has a score for each enabled check category (Accessibility, Broken Links, etc) for the site. These page scores are dependent upon the number of Issues in each category on that page:

  • 0 issues = 100

  • 1 issue = 95

  • 2 issues = 90

  • 3 issues = 85

  • 4 issues = 80

  • ... continuing to subtract 5 from the score ... until reaching

  • 20+ issues = 0

An issue is a type of problem that has been flagged on the page.

For example, if a page has 7 images, all missing alt tags, it counts as 1 issue.

Category Scores

The category scores shown on a site's dashboard are the average score of the site's pages across that category.

Site Score

A site's score is the average of the category scores, excluding Best Practices.
